When one door closes...

Change.

Change is not always comfortable. Change is sometimes painful, sometimes wonderful. Sometimes we choose to make a change and sometimes change happens to us. If we're willing, change can be a wonderful thing.

In early Acts, Saul (Paul) enjoyed persecuting the early Christians. His actions in those early days forced significant change on followers, scattering them across the land in attempts to avoid Saul. However, unbeknownst to Saul, his actions benefitted the Church.

"As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word." (Acts 8:3-4, NKJV)

You see, Servant Leader, even change meant for nefarious purpose can have glorious design. Maybe you have suffered a job loss or been forced to move. Maybe you chose to take a leap of faith and do something entirely different. Maybe COVID has forced your group (work, church, friends) to scatter like the early Church. Maybe, after 15 years with the same large company, you chose to jump to a much smaller one with plans for growth. However you found yourself in the midst of change, embrace God's promise that He will always be with you and will always look out for you as long as you follow HIs leading.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28, NKJV)

So, Servant Leader, embrace the opportunity that comes with change. The early Church did, and look where we are now!
